Autumn Term 1 | September – October 2026

Five pathways, one incredible team and a whole lot of achievements to celebrate!

And just like that, our first half-term of the 2026/27 academic year has come to an end!

What a fantastic start to the new academic year it has been here at Remedicare Education. From welcoming back familiar faces to meeting new learners, our centres have been filled with laughter, creativity, exploration and plenty of exciting learning opportunities.

We've been incredibly proud to see our learners settling into their routines, building positive relationships with staff and peers, growing in confidence and embracing new experiences.

Whether it's been a first swimming session, making a new friend, trying something unfamiliar or communicating a need independently, we've been celebrating every achievement along the way.

And this half-term has certainly been one to remember!

We've travelled through time, welcomed a very special new member of the Remedicare family and watched our five pathways bring learning to life in their own wonderful ways.

So, grab your imaginary time-travel tickets and join us as we look back at everything we've been up to!

Our Time Machine Adventure – Past, Present & Future!

This half-term, our learners have been exploring our exciting Time Machine topic, taking a journey through the past, present and future.

From prehistoric dinosaurs and ancient civilisations to futuristic inventions, space exploration and discussions about what the world might look like one day, our learners have been discovering that learning really can take us anywhere!

Across the provision, our teams have been bringing the topic to life through sensory exploration, creative projects, imaginative play, practical challenges and hands-on learning.

We've had dinosaurs roaming through sensory trays, prehistoric fossils being created, ancient Greek gods inspiring artwork and imaginary spaceships crash-landing in the forest!

Each pathway has explored the topic in ways that are meaningful and accessible to its learners.

And, of course, we couldn't finish the half-term without one very special celebration...

Time Machine Dress-Up Day – What a Journey!

On Wednesday 21st October, Remedicare turned into a time-travelling adventure!

Our learners and staff were invited to dress up as something inspired by the past, present or future, and what a brilliant day it was!

From prehistoric creatures and historical characters to futuristic ideas, our Time Machine Dress-Up Day was an opportunity for everyone to get involved, express themselves and have some fun.

It was wonderful to see our staff joining in with the excitement and helping to bring our topic to life.

As always, participation was encouraged in a way that felt comfortable for each learner, whether that meant wearing a full costume, choosing a small accessory or simply enjoying the celebrations.

The day was about more than dressing up. It was about imagination, creativity, belonging and celebrating our learning together.

One provision, lots of different time periods and a whole lot of Remedicare magic!

Meet Remi – Our Newest Remedicare Family Member!

This half-term, we were also incredibly excited to introduce someone very special...

Everybody, meet REMI!

Our friendly, fluffy and rather colourful Remedicare mascot has officially joined the family!

Remi is kind, curious, playful and always ready for an adventure. But Remi has a very important job too.

Remi is here to help our learners explore their emotions, develop communication, build confidence and understand that every feeling matters.

One of Remi's most exciting features is the ability to change colour to represent different feelings.

Blue – When we might feel sad, tired or need a little comfort.

Green – When we're feeling calm, content and ready to learn.

Yellow – When we might feel excited, worried or a little frustrated.

Red – When our feelings become big and we need support to feel safe.

Through Remi, we're helping learners recognise their feelings, communicate what they need and understand that there is no such thing as a bad emotion.

Remi also celebrates the different ways our learners communicate, whether through words, signs, gestures, symbols, pictures or communication devices.

We can't wait to see Remi become part of our everyday learning experiences, helping children and young people feel safe, understood and celebrated.

And something tells us Remi has plenty more adventures planned!

Five Pathways, Endless Opportunities!

Every learner at Remedicare follows their own journey, and our five pathways provide personalised learning experiences designed around individual strengths, interests and needs.

Here's a little look at what each pathway has been up to this half-term!

Developers – Little Steps, Big Discoveries!

Our Developers have had a roarsome start to the academic year!

From dinosaur-themed sensory exploration and creating prehistoric fossils to woodland adventures, music, movement and baking, our youngest explorers have been busy discovering the world around them.

We've seen some fantastic opportunities for communication, sensory learning, developing independence and building confidence through play.

Our Developers have also been enjoying messy play, outdoor exploration and practical activities that encourage curiosity and creativity.

And perhaps most importantly, we've been celebrating all those wonderful little achievements that mean so much.

Whether it's making a choice, joining a shared activity or trying a new sensory experience, every step forward is something to be proud of.

Small steps, big achievements and plenty of dinosaur-sized fun!

Discoverers – Big Ideas, Brave Steps & Brilliant Discoveries!

Our Discoverers have been putting their creativity, confidence and problem-solving skills to the test!

From dinosaur maths challenges and delicious baking creations to outdoor adventures, swimming and creative projects, there's been plenty happening in the Discovery Den.

We've also seen learners developing important real-world skills through budgeting activities, shopping challenges and practical learning experiences.

One particularly exciting highlight has been our learners taking part in their very own Remedicare job interviews, exploring leadership, responsibility and how they can help others.

Throughout the term, we've celebrated growing friendships, improved confidence and learners becoming more willing to take on new challenges.

Because sometimes the biggest discovery is realising just how much you're capable of!

Enhancers – Building Skills & Breaking Barriers!

Our secondary Enhancers have been getting stuck into some fantastic challenges this half-term!

From tackling algebra and exploring ancient civilisations to managing budgets, cooking and developing practical independence skills, our learners have been building confidence in education and everyday life.

Our Enhancers have also enjoyed outdoor survival challenges, including cracking secret codes, solving problems and working together to unlock rewards.

Community visits, sports, gaming and practical activities have provided opportunities to strengthen communication, develop relationships and explore future aspirations.

We've been especially proud to see learners persevering with challenging tasks, making positive choices and taking greater ownership of their learning.

Big challenges, real-world skills and even bigger possibilities!

Navigators – Finding Our Way, One Step at a Time!

Our Navigators have had a wonderful half-term filled with practical learning, communication and growing independence.

From preparing breakfast and ordering in cafés to baking, swimming, outdoor learning and exploring the community, our learners have been developing skills that make a real difference to everyday life.

We've seen some fantastic achievements in following routines, making choices, communicating preferences and becoming more confident with familiar tasks.

Music, sensory experiences, movement and play have also been an important part of the journey, creating opportunities for learners to express themselves and connect with others.

For our Navigators, every achievement is personal.

And whether it's independently clearing away a plate, joining an activity or communicating a need, we know those little moments can represent huge progress.

Growing confidence, developing independence and celebrating every step of the journey!

Outreach – Learning Without Limits!

Our Outreach learners have certainly proved that learning can happen anywhere!

From bowling alleys and swimming pools to forests, libraries, cafés and science centres, our Outreach team has been creating meaningful learning experiences beyond the traditional classroom.

This half-term has been full of imagination and adventure, including Minecraft-inspired swimming sessions, mythical woodland missions, creative baking and hands-on scientific discoveries.

We've also celebrated some wonderful examples of learners exploring digital design, sharing business ideas and developing their creative talents.

But beyond all the exciting activities, our Outreach provision has continued to focus on what matters most – building trust, developing confidence, supporting communication and helping young people reconnect with positive learning experiences.

We've seen learners becoming more comfortable with familiar adults, confidently expressing their interests and developing the skills to make choices about their learning.

Different environments, different journeys and endless opportunities to succeed!

More Than Just Learning – A Place to Belong

While we've had plenty of exciting activities this half-term, some of our proudest moments have been the ones that might not always make it into a photograph.

A learner confidently walking into the centre.

A young person making a new friend.

Someone trying an unfamiliar activity for the first time.

A learner recognising when they need a break.

Or simply a child smiling because they feel comfortable, safe and understood.

These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do.

At Remedicare Education, we believe every learner deserves to feel valued, supported and successful.

Our approach is built around relationships, personalised learning, communication, emotional wellbeing and meaningful experiences.

And as we look back on this half-term, we're incredibly proud of how well our learners have settled into the new academic year.

Each learner has their own strengths, their own challenges and their own journey.

And every journey deserves to be celebrated.

Half-Term Is Here – Time to Recharge!

After such a busy and exciting first half-term, it's time for everyone to enjoy a well-earned break!

Remedicare Education will be closed to learners for the October half-term holiday from Monday 26th October to Friday 30th October 2026.

When we return, our staff will be taking part in an important INSET and training day on Monday 2nd November 2026.

This dedicated day will give our team the opportunity to come together, reflect on the first half-term, continue their professional development and prepare for the exciting learning opportunities ahead.

All learners will return to their scheduled provision from Tuesday 3rd November 2026.

We can't wait to welcome everyone back for Autumn Term 2!
